KEY Summer Leadership Program

The KEY Summer Leadership Program (SLP) is an invitation for young people to deepen their experience with restorative practice through personal reflection on topics such as race & racism and generational trauma. In addition, they develop leadership skills and learn about social [in]justice issues within Chicago, their community, and what it can look like to be change agents. The program is centered around the planning & implementation of a community impact project, providing youth leaders the opportunity to engage with neighbors in a new way and understand their role in building a stronger, more resilient community.

During the 7-week program, SLP builds on the trusted community students have contributed to and grows their professionalism. Participation in this program leads to a stipend as well as the opportunity to receive further training in restorative justice to serve as an intern.
